Tour overview
Our home for the week is Château Puissentut, a beautifully restored 17th-century estate that feels like a true hidden gem in the rolling hills of the Gers. It strikes that perfect balance between old-world French charm and modern, stylish comfort. Originally an ancient farmstead and chapel, the property has been transformed into a welcoming retreat centered around a sun-drenched Mediterranean courtyard.
Inside, you’ll find light-filled libraries and a professional chef’s kitchen where our culinary adventures truly begin. Outside, the 10m x 4m swimming pool is tucked right into the lush flower and vegetable gardens. It offers sweeping, panoramic views across the valley, making it the most peaceful spot for a quiet morning swim or a dip at sunset
From the quiet garden corners to the warm, honey-hued stone walls, every detail of the Château invites you to kick off your shoes, slow down, and truly embrace the gentle, authentic pace of rural France.
Meals
A Private Culinary Journey: Most meals are included, featuring seasonal, farm-to-table menus designed specifically for our group. Some meals will be curated by our private chef at the chateau and others will be enjoyed at local restaurants.
Private Chef Experience: Indulge in a truly immersive culinary journey with our resident chef, Lisa Jonsson, crafts multi-course, Gascon-inspired feasts using the finest "market-to-table" ingredients, perfectly paired with exceptional local wines.
Beyond the plate, Lisa invites you into the heart of the kitchen for interactive demonstrations. You’ll go behind the scenes to learn the secrets of the region's most iconic flavors, from the precision of searing a perfect duck breast to the delicate artistry of crafting a traditional Gascon croustade (a signature flaky apple pastry doused in Armagnac).
Throughout the week, you’ll also discover Lisa’s techniques for gourmet plating, learning how to transform these rustic, local ingredients into modern visual masterpieces before gathering for dinner in the Château’s grand hall.
Note: To allow for personal exploration of the local village charms, two lunches are left open for you to discover a local bistro of your choice.
Expertly Guided Excursions
All cultural and culinary outings are included, from the fortified bastides of Fourcès and Larressingle to the historic streets of Auch and Lectoure.
Gourmet Tastings: Curated samplings of the region's finest "terroir" products, including farmhouse cheeses, artisan chocolates, and the legendary Gascon duck.
Weekly Market Immersions: Guided visits to the most vibrant local markets, where you’ll meet the producers and experience the heart of Gascon social life.
Spirit & Vine Tours: Exclusive access and private tastings at renowned Armagnac distilleries and winery estates, including cellar tours and vintage tastings. We’ll learn the secrets of Armagnac production, unlike its more famous cousin, Cognac, which is all about consistency and large-scale production, Armagnac is the "wild child" of French brandy. It is small-batch, rustic, and deeply tied to the specific soil of Gascony.
Seamless Ground Transportation: All transport during the tour is provided in private, comfortable vehicles, ensuring you can enjoy the scenic rolling hills of the Gers without a map in hand.
Airfare to and from Toulouse, France, travel insurance, and tips (a suggested contribution is 100 Euros per person) are not included in the tour price.
*Deposits are non-refundable.
